Lately I have been seeing a lot of pregnancy squat challenges circulating Pinterest. I think it's great to challenge your body, but the flaw in these pregnancy squat challenges are they start two weeks before your due date.
Your labor is a marathon and that's going to be hard enough. You shouldn't be over exerting your body with a pregnant squat challenge right before you bring your baby into this world.
I decided that I wanted to create a pregnancy squat challenge that you can do throughout your entire pregnancy. This squat challenge will help you prepare for your labor.
It will help you to have the endurance that you need for labor without making you feel exhausted right before you go into labor.
The Benefits of Squats
There are so many benefits with doing squats and you should take advantage of all of these benefits!
- Squats help prepare the pelvic floor muscles for birth.
- Squats help the baby descend deeper into the pelvis.
- It can help induce labor by getting the baby into a better position and stimulate dilation.
- Squats help open the hips and pelvis.
- Squats help strengthen the glutes and legs which help you carry your baby better when he/she gets bigger later on in your pregnancy.
The Pregnancy Squat Challenge
In this pregnancy squat challenge the reps for each move are less as you get further along in your pregnancy.
You will be heavier as you progress in your pregnancy. I don't want y'all to over exert yourself right before you give birth.
If you have not been active during your pregnancy you need to start with a less reps and work your way up.
Also if you would like you can do this along with a full body workout.
Do each set 3 times every day.
